I used to participate in Top Ten Tuesday when I first started blogging and it was a wonderful way to meet fellow bloggers! I thought with coming back from a hiatus, and a bit of a lack of inspiration on my part, participating again would be a great idea. So, every Tuesday (if the topic interests me) I’ll be sharing a Top Ten Tuesday post. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl! Today’s topic is pretty simple – books on my spring TBR! While I don’t customize my TBR depending on the seasons, these are some books that I want to get to as soon as possible. Whether it be from excitement or planned readathons, I just want to read these dang books! Let’s get into it…
DUSTBORN by ERIN BOWMAN

This is a book I recently preordered and it is by one of my favorite authors. Bowman always writes books that are right up my alley and this one is no exception. It’s pitched for fans of The 100 and Mad Max sans all the futuristic technology and I’m into it. I will probably put down whatever I’m reading when this one shows up at my doorstep.

SHADOW AND BONE by LEIGH BARDUGO

This would be a reread if I get to it. I want to read it before the show comes out! I do want to reread Six of Crows as well but since I remember less of Shadow and Bone it takes priority. Are you planning on rereading any of these before the show comes out? Are you going to watch the show?

So, mini rant on Black Library (the publishing house of the Warhammer universe). They have a tendency to no longer print books, but then release them as special editions down the road. They recently came out with a sequel of a book they no longer print, but they came out with special editions of both. So, obviously, if I want to read the trilogy I had to buy them both as special editions. Then I found out that the book is a 3rd trilogy to a larger story with 2 other series before it. So now I need to read 7 books before I even get to the 2 I originally purchased. That starts with this book, Xenos.

ACOWAR/ACOFAS/ACOSF by SARA J. MAAS
I was going to reread from ACOTAR but I decided I don’t want to since there are so many pages I need to read now >.< So, I just want to finish ACOWAR and continue with ACOFAS and ACOSF – which I just bought a couple weeks ago. I wasn’t getting into ACOWAR so I had put it down a while ago unfinished. I don’t know if I should pick up where I left off (I still have my bookmark in it) or if I should just start from the beginning. What would you do?

ANY KINDLE UNLIMITED BOOKS
Literally, any. I pay for KU but rarely use it. I currently have 8 books on my Kindle that I want to read (mostly thanks to Instagram ads). So, I just want to read anything from Kindle Unlimited to justify the $10 a month I keep paying for it. At least 2 a month would be nice! Do you have any favorite KU books I should read?
The two I included in this post are Dreams of the Dying and The Gods of Men.

DARK SHORES READALONG
On Instagram, @triciaghent is hosting a read-a-long for the Dark Shores series. I don’t know if I’m going to read all of the books (because who knows if I will like these ones), but I do want to read the first two they’ve scheduled to read. Check out Tarnished Empire and Dark Shores on Goodreads.

OWLCRATE-A-THON
Owlcrate-a-thon is a read-a-thon running from March 15th to March 28th. The whole premise is just to read books that were included in past Owlcrate boxes that you still haven’t read. And boy, do I have plenty to choose from. I need to be realistic, though. Below are the ones I want to try to read for this read-a-thon and beyond it (because I know I won’t be able to read this many books in a little under 2 weeks). The four I really want to read first are All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace, Scavenge the Stars by Tara Sim, Among the Beasts and Briars by Ashley Poston, and Lore by Alexandra Bracken. Have you read any of these? Which should I start with?

I’m going to watch Shadow and Bone, and I think I prefer that I’m fuzzy on the earlier Grisha books going in to the show, I wasn’t a huge fan of the first one and this way I can be surprised. I do have Rule of Wolves on my spring TBR though.

In regards to ACOWAR, how far are you? It it’s not very far then just start from there. Did you completely forget everything? If so, start over. I am pretty good at remembering once I get going and would probably just start from where you left off. I am also participating in OwlCrateathon!! I’m almost through Lore now. I have so many that I can choose from too. I need to be better about not letting them stack up. haha
I think I’ll continue from where I left off and just google something if I forget lol I don’t want to slog through that beginning again >.<

I had good intentions of rereading ACOWAR before A Court of Silver Flames released but (naturally) it didn’t happen. I’m just going to dive in and assume that all the details will come back to me. 🙂

I’ve also put ACOWAR aside and I’m not sure when I’m going to finish it. I am planning on watching the Shadow and Bone TV series, but I don’t have any of the books at home, they’re in storage, so I won’t be rereading before it comes out.

I hope to be watching the series too! I haven’t even read the books (although I have physical copies of them). I know… bad reader. But I will get to them asap 🙂 I’m also in the same boat when it comes to KU. I strive to find books each month to justify the cost. I hope you find some, get to these books, and love them all!!

RIGHT? I need to read at least 2-3 a month to justify that cost, in my opinion. Because most ebooks are about 2.99. There’s a lot of good books on there too!

The show for Shadow & Bone is the only reason why I pushed the books up on TBR because I really want to watch it when it comes out and not have to wait! I don’t know much about the others here, but I also want to read Lore and Among the Beasts and Briars so badly. I hope you enjoy all of the ones you’re able to get to!
I’m currently reading Among the Beasts and Briars! It’s cute. Reads more like a middle grade than YA but it makes it super easy to read lol
I have the same problem with ACOWAR, I started reading it at some point but put it back down again. I think I’ll start from the beginning as I only got 100 pages into it before 😄 Good luck with your TBR!!

I’ve seen a lot of people rereading the Grisha books in preparation for the Netflix series! I’m currently reading King of Scars so it’s unlikely that I’ll be rereading the past books any time soon. Enjoy 😀

I’d love to reread Shadow and Bone before the show comes out, but I don’t think I’ll have the time to actually do it :/ I’ve been wanting to reread The Iron Fey and The Infernal Devices for a while now though!

Thankfully I was so late to the game when it comes to the Grishaverse novels that they’re all still pretty fresh in my mind. I can’t wait to watch the Netflix series. ACOWAR was my least favorite book from that series so I’m probably not the best person to ask. I’d pick up from where I left off and push on through unless I couldn’t remember anything that had already taken place.
That’s good! I read the Shadow and Bone trilogy years ago so I remember some main points but not the finer details. Ah yeahhhh ACOWAR is my least favorite so far as well. Maybe I’ll just start where I left off and google something if I don’t remember lol
