Hello, friends! I found this tag from Drizzle & Hurricane Books and I thought it would be the perfect tag to do coming back from a hiatus. It seems like a nice little conversation starter, so make sure to let me know what your answers would be for some of the questions in the comments! If you want to do this tag, I’ll leave the prompt at the end of the post with no answers so you can easily copy & paste. I’ve also linked most books with either a link to my review or to Goodreads if you want to check them out. Let’s begin!
|A|uthor you’ve read the most books from
The answer to this one kind of surprised me. I was sure it was going to be Leigh Bardugo or this one romance author I read a lot of ebooks from … but it is Marie Lu! I’ve read The Young Elites, Legend, and Batman. I have yet to get to Warcross though.
|B|est sequel ever
This one was actually really hard for me. I went through all my “read” books on Goodreads and there are so many series/trilogies/duologies I haven’t finished! I feel like this answer would be different if I have finished them because, really, this is a pick made in desperation: Scarlet.
|C|urrently reading
The Hobbit! This is a reread for me for The Bookie Trials.
|D|rink of choice while reading
Well, now that I’m pregnant, my options are limited. So, I’ll have to say water or decaf anything (I’ve gotta squeeze in the little bit of caffeine I’m allowed per day). zZz
|E|-reader or physical copy?
Physical, although sometimes I do enjoy ebooks since I can make the font as big as I want.
|F|ictional character you would have dated in high school
Pass.
|G|lad you gave this book a chance
Dragons of Autumn Twilight. This book got some mixed reviews & it was one I was hesitant on because it was so out of my comfort zone. My husband read it so I decided to give it a shot & I’m glad I did because I thought it was a fun book and really want to continue the series! It also showed me that I will enjoy non-YA fantasy.
|H|idden gem book
So many contemporaries! I feel like a lot of contemporaries sort of fly under the radar. A few of my favorites are:
- Girl Against the Universe by Paula Stokes
- Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
- A Short History of the Girl Next Door by Jared Reck
- Love and Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo
- First and Then by Emma Mills
- A Totally Awkward Love Story by Tom Ellen & Lucy Ivison
- The Night We Said Yes by Lauren Gibaldi
|I|mportant moment in your reading life
I wouldn’t really say I’ve had an important moment but for the sake of answering the question: The closest I can get to my “reading life” is when I started to be proud of my bookstagram & started blogging. I remember being so embarrassed about it but at some point, I just embraced it. That was quite freeing.
|J|ust finished
Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Aime Kaufman. If you read my review, you know how I feel.
|K|ind of books you won’t read
I’m pretty open-minded to what I’ll read – even if I rarely read out of my comfort zone. Although, I actively avoid most non-fiction.
|L|ongest book you have ever read
A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin. Sort of? It’s 969 pages but technically, I listened to most of it on audiobook. Does that count?
… sigh.
|M|ajor book hangover because of…
Oh man. There are quite a few. I tend to not know what the heck to pick up next after a really good book. I would say, Heart of Iron, Vengeance Road, Stalking Jack the Ripper, anything Leigh Bardugo…honestly so many.
|N|umber of bookcases you own
1-ish. Currently, most of my books are in this open closet in the 2nd bedroom (it looks like bookshelves, don’t worry) but with the baby coming, I’ll be moving my books to a new area of the house which means I may or may not be buying 1-2 more bookshelves.
|O|ne book you’ve read multiple times
I typically don’t reread books. The only two I’ve ever reread are Crank by Ellen Hopkins and The Hobbit (currently in the middle of the reread).
|P|referred place to read
The couch. We have an L-shaped sectional that creates the perfect like reading corner.
|Q|uote that inspires you
I don’t really know? Sorry. Recommend me some good quotes!
|R|eading regret
That I didn’t read the classics when they were assigned reading and now I have to catch up as an adult. Do your assigned reading, folks!
|S|eries you started and need to finish (all books are out)
I looked through all of my “read” books on Goodreads and most of the series I’ve started are either unfinished or I finished them. The only one I can find is The Lord of the Rings! I still need to read Return of the King.
|T|hree of your all-time favorite books
The Hobbit, Six of Crows, Vengeance Road, Heart of Iron … this is such a mean question.
|U|napologetic fangirl for
Young Adult books. Honestly, it sometimes feels like I need to defend why I read YA. They’re fun, most of the time.
|V|ery excited for this release
Soul of Stars by Ashley Poston, The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young, and Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. Again, anything Leigh Bardugo.
|W|orst bookish habit
Starting books and not finishing them. I do this a lot.
|X| marks the spot: start at the top of your shelf and pick the 27th book
I’m writing this post downstairs in the living room and am THAT lazy, so I’ll count the books in here. Book 27 is, The Familiar.
|Y|our latest book purchase
I did a little haul at B&N recently and purchased Sorcery of Thorns, Daughter of the Siren Queen, King of Fools, and Wicked Saints.
|Z|zz-snatcher book (the last book that kept you up way too late)
Oh boy. I don’t know. I like my sleep.

Even though I am a hardcore contemporary reader, I love Lu’s books. I read her Warcross, Legend, and Young Elites series. All great. Paula Stokes books are really under appreciate. She’s fabulous and should get more love.
I really love Lu’s books. She’s one of the authors that really got me into the whole online bookish community. I agree with Paula Stokes! See, so many contemporaries fly under the radar 🙁
Welcome back, Molly! I’ve been a bit out of the loop so I might miss your coming back post 🙂 Congratulations on your pregnancy! I love Marie Lu’s books, I don’t know why I don’t read more of her. I’m making The Young Elites my priority read this year though!
Thank you!! I hope you like The Young Elites. I know some people don’t like Lu’s work but I think they’re fun reads 🙂
Love this tag! I’ve literally never heard of it so I am totally stealing this for the blog because these are great questions. I can’t believe you’re not much of a rereader, but The Hobbit is a good one to have reread a couple of times.
Yay! I’ll make sure to check out your answers if you do it! And yeah…I just have a hard time reading something when I know what’s going to happen >.< The other book I reread was a book I read almost 15 years ago, so I barely remembered. haha
Girl Against the Universe was also a hidden gem for me, and Dragons of Autumn Twilight is a book I’m interested in. I’m glad to hear you’re interested in continuing the series 🙂
This is a fun tag! I might join in on this one.
Let me know if you end up participating! I’d love to see your answers 🙂
