Oh, hey, hello. I know I haven’t posted in a while, but instead of going on about how life has been super busy, that I needed a break from social media, and how I have big plans for the future of my blog & my bookstagram (all of which are true) – I figured I’d just dive right into some books I plan on reading soon.
So, here are 10 books on my 2024 Spring TBR!
»«
⇒ SECRETS IN THE MIST by Morgan L. Busse | Goodreads – I’ve had this one on my shelf for a little while. It gives all the steampunk and Bioshock/Dishonored vibes so I am here. for. it.
⇒ FOURTH WING by Rebecca Yarros | Goodreads – Listen, I know, I can’t believe I haven’t read this yet either. Granted, I have started this, but it didn’t quite hook me enough to continue reading at the time. I do want to give it another chance, though. Especially considering I already bought book two because I wanted to the matching sprayed edges.
⇒ HOOKED by Emily McIntire | Goodreads – I went through a spicy romance era and got three books from this series. Especially after reading the Vicious Lost Boys series. Oof, I needed to continue with the spicy fairytale retellings. I don’t care which one I read from this set, I just want to read at least one of the three I have already.
⇒ LEDGE by Stacy McEwan | Goodreads – I’ve had this on my shelf since before she got it traditionally published. I’m currently reading A Fate Inked in Blood, and I just feel like I’m going to need another viking-esque story once I’ve finished it.
⇒ NINETEEN CLAWS AND A BLACK BIRD by Agustina Bazterrica | Goodreads – I read Tender Is the Flesh a couple years back and though I have some mixed feelings on it, boy, did it stick into my brain. It made me want to check out more by this author. So, I am excited for this short story collection!
⇒ THE DEEP by Nick Cutter | Goodreads – I’ve found myself in a weird mood: survival stories involving water. I know, it’s oddly specific. When I saw this one that gave me a bit of Deep Blue Sea vibes, minus the hyper-intelligent sharks, I immediately added it to my shelves.
⇒ THE STRANDED by Sarah Daniels | Goodreads – Again, a survival story that involves water. This one has more of an alternate history, post-apocalyptic vibes, though. The synopsis makes me think of a movie I watched recently in which a woman flees a tyrannical Spain and gets lost in the ocean in a shipping container. I know, cruise ship ≠ shipping container and stranded ≠ society, but it’s just the vibes, ok?
⇒ THE SEVEN YEAR SLIP by Ashley Poston | Goodreads – I figured I needed to include at least one happy-feel-good book for a Spring tbr, yeah? I love Ashley Poston, but I have yet to read this one. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this one, so I am excited!
⇒ 1776 by David McCullough | Goodreads – I have been telling myself to include more non-fiction and more historical novels into my tbr, but I never actually read them. I bought this one a while ago because I’ve heard that McCullough is an excellent writer when it comes to US History. But non-fiction isn’t usually my thing, so we shall see if I even pick it up this time around.
⇒ LILAC GIRLS by Martha Hall Kelly | Goodreads – Again, this is my trying to explore outside of my comfort zone. I’ve heard great things about this one and have had it for a while. Plus, it has a spring-ish cover, yeah?
Have you read any of these?

I enjoy nonfiction, but I’ve actually never read David McCullough!
I’ve heard his are excellent! Every list I’ve looked at on the topic includes at least one of his.
I haven’t read Fourth Wing yet but I feel like I should. I loved The Seven Year Slip, and I have her new one on my list this week.
Right? I can’t believe I haven’t read Fourth Wing yet lol
This is a great list. I have been wanting to read Seven Year Slip and Ledge! I hope you enjoy all of these.
I’ve been seeing lots of books by Ashley on lists, but haven’t read any of hers. Perhaps I need to take a closer look at her backlist and see if I’d enjoy any. 🙂 Hope you enjoy these all.
